If there is one thing that gets me all kinds of excited and makes me want to remortgage my house for, it’s beauty products! Since making an allowance as a 12 yr old girl, I would save up for two things: $0.05 sours (enough to make my tongue bleed of course) and beauty products from the local drug store.
I had elated pride that my bedroom shelves and drawers mimicked that of my very own Shoppers Drug Mart and that every Seventeen Magazine “must-have” beauty product was at my fingertips.
Fast Forward to life as an adult and being the one in charge of everything down to the toilet paper we use...and you’ll find that the need to own every beauty product resides pretty low on the totem pole. Nonetheless, I still prioritize the fractional amount of products that I do invest in and use as my go-to’s!
To put these products into some kind of context, here are my basic morning and evening facial routines.
Morning:
Cleanse with a moisturizing cleanser
Toner
Antioxidant / Vitamin C Serum
Eye cream
Spot Treatment (if needed)
Lite Moisturizer
Sunscreen
Evening:
Oil cleanser (good for getting all the makeup off)
Gentle Exfoliating cleanser
Eye cream
Treatment serum / facial oil
Night moisturizer (heavier than my daily one)
Lip sleeping mask
Weekly:
Deep exfoliation 2x a week
Face Masks 1-2x week
