I'm Janine Deanna
I believe in... purpose over perfection. drinking tim horton's coffee every day. Jesus. getting regular mani's & pedi's. eating a lot of avocado. laughing until it hurts.. taking road trips. the over use of exclamation marks! listening to songs I love on repeat. trusting my gut. listening for life's whispers of direction. shopping for relaxation. being in close proximity to chocolate at all times. listening to audio books. being truly present with the people I love. sharing my imperfections. singing at the top of my lungs. eating breakfast foods as often as I can. being open minded. hugging instead of shaking hands.
I am... a crazy slow eater. 6'ft tall. tenacious. fuelled by coffee. often wearing a v-neck t-shirt and lulu lemon pants.. obsessed with Sephora. music made in the early 2000's. mother of two sweet kids and a chocolate lab named True. I am a hairstylist & makeup artist by trade. collector of fresh flowers and succulents. in love with seafoam green and rose gold. living life with my best friend by my side. a beard lover. hoping to start a podcast one day. a fly-fisher wanna be in training.
I am not about the stiff poses and the fake smiles, we'll leave that to Sears. I love vulnerable and lighthearted passion, natural reactions and romantic embraces. I also believe that passionate, pure and soul bearing images doesn't just happen, they need to be crafted. It takes time to create. It has to be given the right environment and permission to grow. This is why I love getting to know my couples, and directly engaging them while I shoot so I can start seeing them as they see one another. That is when I am able to recognize, understand and seek out their unique connection and capture it.
We all need to have a "why", as it's the driving passion behind our existence. I take photos to bring people back to moments otherwise vanished. I take photos to bridge distance, shorten time and lend legacy to the moments that would otherwise be forgotten. Wedding images are priceless. After all the planning and the day is done, the only connection outside of your own sweet memories, are your images. They are the tangible memory holders that will allow you to relive and tell your love story for generations to come. It's never lost on me how blessed I am to be a part of so many stories and I count it my responsibility to tell each couples story as authentically as possible.
